Who We Are
As a Regional Partner Organization (RPO) of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), we provide nationally recognized WBENC Certification—the gold standard for women-owned businesses seeking to connect with major corporations and government agencies. At WBEC South, we serve women-owned businesses across Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle.
WBEC South was incorporated in 1994 and proudly stands as one of the Founding Councils of WBENC. Over the past 30 years, we have built a strong, diverse network of over 1,200 certified Women’s Business Enterprises (WBEs), connecting them to corporate partners, procurement leaders, and business development resources.

Our mission is to advance and enhance business opportunities between corporations and women-owned businesses through a reputable certification program, education, and professional growth opportunities.
Our vision is a world where women-owned businesses have barrier-free access to supply chain opportunities—because when women-owned businesses succeed, communities and economies thrive.
We work to accomplish this by focusing on our CORE platform — Certification, Opportunities, Resources, and Engagement.
What We Offer
Certification
WBEC South facilitates the nationally recognized and most relied upon certification program, WBENC Certification, for the states of Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and the Florida Panhandle.
Opportunities
We are committed to connecting women-owned businesses with major corporations to facilitate business opportunities. Signature events like procurement luncheons, pitch competitions, and WB Marketplace help WBEs access new business opportunities.
Resources
We provide resources to address the challenges women face in building and growing a business including educational workshops and tools to strengthen supplier diversity partnerships. Weekly Power Hours, Pre & Post-Certification Webinars, and training sessions provide WBEs with the tools to scale their businesses.
Engagement
WBEC South fosters engagement with our network through regional events, robust recognition and awards programs and our celebrated annual Summit & Awards Gala. We work with corporate and government partners to increase supplier diversity and inclusion in procurement.
