Luz Lubos loves giving back to the community and leads by example serving on the New Orleans Multicultural Tourism Board and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana Board. As president of Synergy Design Group, Inc., a national retail exhibit and display rental company, Luz soon realized in March 2020 that she had to pivot quickly and strategically. When she received the call that one of her last bookings was cancelled and the 18-wheeler hauling her client’s exhibit has to turn around en route to Boston, she knew it was time to “recalculate” her business.

She shifted her business to provide personal protective equipment and partitions to protect front line workers. Realizing that something else needed to be done, Luz and the Synergy Team developed a new business unit by tapping into their expertise in installation and dismantling. They contracted with organizations responsible for hurricane preparation and recovery in Gulf Shores, AL. They targeted customers needing to sustain their real estate investment properties into more sustain their real estate investment properties into more functioning and safer spaces. Luz states, “To be able to grow in Alabama, we shrank our New Orleans footprint by closing our showroom and moving offices while consolidating our headquarters in Kenner (LA) to a display rental warehouse.”

Her decision to scale down also lead her to move her office to the WB Collective, a shared co-working space in downtown New Orleans operated by WBEC South. She truly maximizes the functionality of the WB Collective by hosting small business meetings and recommending the space to host the 2021 Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana Women’s Symposium. As one of the newest Enterprising Women of Color program members, Luz looks forward to connecting with other potential clients in the Gulf Coast region to grow Synergy Design Group in new and exciting ways.
