In March, WBEC South welcomed WBENC and over 1400 of their guests to New Orleans for the Annual Summit and Salute. This was a milestone year because the event has always been held in Baltimore, Maryland. Due to a scheduling conflict and in light of WBEC South’s 20th Anniversary, WBENC decided to relocate the event to New Orleans for this year. The result was a fabulous experience that no one will forget!
Highlights from the event included:
- The 15th Annual List of America’s Top Corporations for Women’s Business Enterprises were revealed through out the event. This year’s list was the largest to date. You can click here to see the full list which includes WBEC South Partners: Altria, Bank of America, BP, Chevron, Exxon Mobil Corporation, Marriott International, Shell, and Toyota.
- The 14 WBE Stars were honored for their achievements. Each of the ladies were presented with an award from their RPO leader. WBEC South’s WBE Star for 2014 is Jennifer Jeansonne, President of Eagle Consulting. You learn more about Jennifer and Eagle Consulting in this month’s WBE Spotlight.
- WBEs that registered before the early bird deadline were eligible for One on One MatchMaker meetings and access to the Meet and Greet. This year’s had a record-breaking number of MatchMaker meetings!
- Lots of Southern Hospitality including: a 2nd Line Parade, delicious Southern delicacies, masks & beads, and Rockin’ Dopsie Jr. & The Zydeco Twisters!
