Buffy Stancill, founder and owner of Faith & Grace Flooring, dba Creative Flooring of Pensacola, came from a career in commercial banking and had never imagined she would lead a flooring company. What started as a curiosity about the industry quickly turned into a passion for creating a business that prioritizes guidance, quality, and trust.
Buffy launched Creative Flooring to fill a gap she saw in the market: clients needed a partner who could walk them through every step of their flooring projects, rather than simply selling products. “I dove in headfirst, learning everything I could about flooring and design. Helping clients find the right solution became my driving focus,” she says.
With her commitment to her community and her hands-on approach, Creative Flooring has grown into a respected company serving both residential and commercial clients. Today, it is known for exceptional service, expert product knowledge, and personalized guidance from start to finish.
Buffy’s unique background in banking shaped how she approaches the flooring industry. “I spent over 30 years in relationship-based, consultative sales. So, when I entered flooring, I wasn’t just selling product — I was listening, learning how people live, what they love, what their spaces need.” That personal touch has become a hallmark of Creative Flooring, ensuring that clients feel like family rather than just transactions. Much of the company’s growth comes through referrals, thanks to the combination of client education, guidance, and strategic partnerships with manufacturers to solve even complex commercial challenges.
Recognition has followed Buffy’s innovative approach. She recently spoke with WIFI (Women in the Floorcovering Industry) at the Abbey, Floors To Go annual conference, sharing insights on how her team is reshaping the customer experience in flooring. “We’re not afraid to challenge assumptions,” Buffy says. “Many clients walk in thinking they want one thing, but after a conversation, they leave with a solution that’s a better fit for their lifestyle or project goals.”
WBENC Certification has been a pivotal milestone for Creative Flooring. “It’s helped us build rapport and credibility with contractors and commercial clients,” Buffy explains. “It’s a differentiator in a crowded industry — one that opens doors.” Beyond the certification itself, Buffy emphasizes the invaluable support of WBEC South’s network. “I would never have had the opportunity to meet some of the people I’ve met without this network. It’s given me access to incredible minds and partnerships across the country.”
Buffy offers practical advice to fellow WBEs: “Network with other WBEs! I’ve learned so much just by talking to other women about their journeys. I recently completed the THRIVE program — what an incredible experience. The speakers were amazing, and every session was filled with insight and inspiration.” Her top tip? Step out of your comfort zone. “When you go to the conference, don’t just sit with people you know. Sit with strangers. Make new connections. You never know where it will lead — or who will help open your next door.”
Looking ahead, Creative Flooring continues to expand across multiple states, offering new interior design services while maintaining a foundation built on faith, family, and referrals. Buffy credits WBEC South with
helping make these possibilities a reality. “If you’re thinking about getting certified or joining WBEC South — do it,” she says. “The opportunities, the connections, and the encouragement you receive are invaluable. I am so grateful for this community.”
Creative Flooring of Pensacola reflects the innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit that WBEC South celebrates. We’re proud to highlight Buffy Stancill and her team as a compelling example of how women-owned businesses are driving growth, delivering excellence, and shaping the future of their industries.
